Civic Engagement has named Treshaun Hill as the Student of the Month for the month of September. Treshaun has spent his undergraduate career tirelessly investing in the Georgia State community. He demonstrates leadership, perseverance and commitment through his many volunteer positions.
As the President of the Big Brother Big Sister Georgia State University charter, Treshaun leads sixty-three student volunteers in meaningful one-on-one friendships with children in metro-Atlanta. Big Brother Big Sister GSU mentors students through healthy academic, social, and cultural development. By forming this cooperative relationship, children are provided with guidance and life skills to improve and grow their community.
Treshaun also serves on the New Student Orientation Team and as the Tour Guide Manager for the GSU Welcome Center. Through these positions, Treshaun has devoted hours of time to welcoming new students and ensuring their comfort on campus.
Treshaun’s many leadership positions have made him realize that there are always people watching. He strives to be a positive role model through his words and actions.
Treshaun was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Thomson, Georgia. He is the second youngest of eight siblings. His favorite aspects of GSU are its diversity and great atmosphere. Treshaun is also thankful for the many opportunities that are provided to the students at GSU.
There is no doubt that Treshaun has made GSU a better place and his legacy of service will continue to inspire others to serve. Congratulations, Treshaun! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for you.
