Reflection is an important piece of the process of service-learning and allows students to take the necessary time to process their experiences and look critically at the social structures which play into social issues. The Volunteer Rewards program includes a reflection portion.
Students who log volunteer hours and write reflections on their service experiences are automatically entered in a drawing each semester to win prizes. This year we are offering two $250 textbook scholarship vouchers and sixteen $50 textbook scholarship vouchers.
Past rewards have included:
Round-trip AirTran airline tickets
$250, $100 and $50 textbook scholarships
$100 gift card for the University Bookstore
$25 Panther Cards
Quiznos gift certificates
Smoothie King gift certificates
How Students Can Participate:
Find a community agency or student group that could use your help. Not sure where to start? Browse OrgSync or visit the Office of Civic Engagement. Log volunteer hours and submit reflections right away to be eligible for a prize drawing.
