Voter Friendly Campus
Georgia State University has once again been designated a Voter Friendly Campus! Only 258 universities in the country received this designation. The mission of the 2023 Voter Friendly Campus designation aims to bolster colleges' and universities’ efforts to help students overcome barriers to political participation – every year, not just during years featuring federal elections. Georgia State was evaluated based on a written plan for how we planned to register, educate and turnout student voters in 2022; how we facilitated voter engagement efforts on our campus; and a final analysis of our efforts.

MLK Commemoration
Monday, January 15, 2024, marks the 41st anniversary of the first observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a U.S. federal holiday. Each year Georgia State University honors The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and work with numerous activities in January. Units across Georgia State are excited to present a week full of activities that feature lectures, discussions, celebration, and community service opportunities that reflect his dream and vision for civil rights and social justice.
This year, one of our signature events is the Dream Big Book Drive! Did you know that only 1 in 300 students in low-income areas across the Atlanta Metro Region have regular access to books at home? Donate gently used children's books (of any reading level). Your donation will go a long way towards building a solid reading foundation for many of these students.
Donations are accepted at the Student Life Office on all GSU campuses. On our annual Day of Service: A Day on, Not A Day Off we will need volunteers to clean, repair, sort by reading level, organize and box the donated books for distribution. We need lots of volunteers to make sure our books are ready to go to the homes of little Panthers, so sign up on GivePulse today!

Students, faculty and staff: Register to VOTE!
Georgia State University has made it easy for students, faculty and staff to register to vote. When there is an election in your area, you will be sent a reminder to ensure you never miss another election. TurboVote is an application that makes voting easy. When you sign up, TurboVote keeps track of your elections, local and national. And if you need to get registered, update your voter registration, or request an absentee ballot, we’ll get you all the forms and information you need, when you need them.
TurboVote keeps track of registration and vote-by-mail rules for all 50 states, so you don’t have to.
