Civic Engagement partners with local nonprofit organizations to offer volunteer opportunities for Georgia State University students, staff and faculty.
Civic Engagement staff members lead service projects on a regular basis. View the Civic Engagement calendar or visit the Civic Engagement portal on OrgSync to sign up for upcoming service projects, programs and events.
Individuals looking to volunteer on a regular basis are invited to engage with our ongoing service partners. Examples of opportunities include Project One on One with the Children’s Restoration Network and Big Bethel AME Saturday School Academy. Contact Shakia Guest at 404-413-1550 to learn more about ongoing volunteer opportunities.
Individuals and groups can also use OrgSync to find volunteer opportunities promoted by community partners and to log volunteer hours. Review this guide for more information on how to use your account to manage service opportunities and hours.
In addition, Civic Engagement hosts a Nonprofit Organization Volunteer and Internship Fair once each semester where nonprofit organizations come to campus to recruit interested Georgia State University community members for volunteer and internship positions.
Civic Engagement staff is available to help or advise students about volunteering. Community service opportunities are available for all interests, schedules and talents. Civic Engagement is here to help students find positions that are a good fit for them, so that the student, the agency and the community benefit from the student’s participation. Interested students can visit Civic Engagement at Student Center West, Suite 475, or contact us to set up a time to talk, so that Civic Engagement can help you find the right opportunity.
